In Poland, New Wave of Charges Against Clerics - New York Times
I’m not sure what all this means. I think one would have had to have lived in communist Poland at the time these events took place to fully appreciate the significance of all this. However, the resignation of a newly named Cardinal in one of the last bastions of the Catholic faith in Europe is a major event, and I am sure that many will construe this in the worst possible way without fully understanding or appreciating the climate of those times. All I really know is that the church did survive in this communist country, and even gave the church a fantastic Pope.
