Song: You Have to be There

“Kristina from Duvemåla” is a Swedish musical written by former ABBA member detailing a family’s poverty-driven migration from Sweden to America in the mid-19th century. In the musical a distraught wife and mother cries out to God in her anguish. It is reminiscent of Jesus’ prayer to his Father: “My God, My God, why have you forsaken me.” It is also a reminder that we are the hands and the feet of Christ.
